1. Choose two different colored fabrics.
2. On the back of the first fabric, draw a 10x9.5cm rectangle.
3. On the back of the second fabric, draw two 15x9.5cm rectangles.
4. Cut out three rectangles, leaving a 1-2cm margin from the drawn lines, but not along them.
Sew the 9.5cm wide side of the smaller rectangle to each of the two larger rectangles along the drawn lines. This will create a larger rectangle.
Turn the fabric right side out and attach the lace trim to the fabric at the seam. Tip: You can also sew the lace trim to the fabric with thread.
Fold the larger rectangle in half lengthwise, ensuring the wrong side of the fabric faces outwards.
Measure 13cm upwards from the bottom and mark it.
Sew both sides along the drawn lines, starting from the marked area and working downwards. Tip: You can slightly round the bottom corner.
Fold each of the four corners of the pocket opening inwards at an angle and sew them in place.
Take two ropes, each about 55cm long, and place them on the fabric at the opening. Fold the opening downwards to cover the ropes. Sew a line along the bottom of the ropes so they can contract freely inside.
Turn the pocket inside out and wrap the two ropes inside the fabric in the same way. Note that the two ropes should be reversed here.
Turn the finished drawstring bag inside out from the opening.
Tie a knot at both ends of the ropes and cut off any excess thread. The drawstring bag is now complete.
